Olivette Parks Improvements

Olivette, Missouri

In 2019, DTLS was part of a team engaged by the City of Olivette to envision improvements in support of Proposition C, a municipal bond referendum to fund major improvements in all five of Olivette's existing parks. The proposition passed with broad public backing, and the team initiated Concept Planning for each park, a process by which the community's top priority improvement projects were further developed and fitted to each site.  These Concept Plans were used to confirm project budgets and determine phasing moving forward.

Detailed design and engineering followed closely behind, with new amenities and renovations tailored to each park's unique circumstances.  These improvements ranged from parking lots and pavilions, to nature-based play areas and splash pads, to expanded accessibility and sustainable landscapes, to a community center and parks maintenance facility.

DTLS was in the unique position of simultaneously being part of another team designing a new segment of the Centennial Greenway, which winds its way through Warson Park and Indian Meadows Park.  Having the opportunity to maintain continuity, working in partnership with a steadfast and enthusiastic team of Olivette city staff, greatly benefitted both projects.

All Olivette Parks Improvement Projects are scheduled to be completed in 2023.
