Phillips 66 Corporate Headquarters

Houston, Texas

When Fortune-50 company Phillips 66 required a new corporate headquarters, they turned to global architecture firm HOK.  DTLS Landscape Architecture oversaw the implementation of the landscape architectural design work completed while Michelle Ohle was at a previous position.  The design aesthetic takes its influence from the rich cultural and natural history of Texas Hill Country architecture and native landscape.  The 1.25 million square foot facility is the home of corporate offices as well as the Brokerage and Human Resources Divisions.

The headquarters arrival sequence for visitors, corporate executives, and government dignitaries is choreographed to reflect the company's appreciation of the Hill Country aesthetic. The auto court and landscape design is intended to imbue feelings of a tranquil drive through a native landscape which becomes more refined as one reaches the lobby space. Cascading water features further enrich the arrival experience and highlight the areas of activity throughout the campus. These spaces are accented with unique seating, textural plantings, and fire pit features for outdoor team building and collaboration – extending the interior program beyond the building envelope.
