DTLS worked with HDR to prepare a Feasibility Study and Concept Plan in collaboration with Great Rivers Greenway, the City of Ferguson and St. Louis County.  The Study is focused on a 2/3-mile segment of the Maline Greenway, connecting Forestwood Park to West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson, Missouri.

The proposed greenway segment parallels the alignment of Maline Creek as it flows through southeast Ferguson in north St. Louis County.  Its path primarily utilizes land owned by the City of Ferguson, passing through Forestwood Park and Lang-Royce Park.  In addition to providing access to and through public land, the segment will connect to adjacent residential neighborhoods of varying density, industrial developments and a busy commercial corridor.

This study evaluates potential greenway alignments, trailhead configurations, neighborhood connections, crossing strategies and integration opportunities with adjacent development projects.  Community feedback, risk assessments, cost estimates, utility coordination, environmental impact and experiential factors were considered in determining alignment recommendations that meet established criteria for feasibility and constructability.

As the project moves forward through detailed design and construction, DTLS will continue as the project’s Landscape Architect.
