A background in fine arts and a lifelong enthusiasm for outdoor activity and education led Gabe to a career in landscape architecture.  Since joining DTLS in 2017, he has become our resident expert in Missouri native plant communities, taking pleasure in  sharing the aesthetic and ecological benefits of indigenous species with colleagues and clients alike.  This mindset, coupled with a deep interest in regional history and culture infuses Gabe’s design work with a strong connection to the local context.  Gabe’s urban design education and experience reinforce this place-based approach and inform his  contributions to projects ranging in complexity and scope.  His skill as an artist allows Gabe to translate design concepts into sketches and renderings that are inspiring and easily understood.  At home, Gabe spends time caring for his own Missouri native landscape, as well as rebuilding vintage bicycles to ride with family and friends.
